A few years ago, we decided to write a book about our System1 philosophy and how to apply it to create great marketing. What we didn’t reckon with is how long it would take, since most of our time has to be spent doing things, not writing about them.

But several drafts (and one rebrand!) later and it’s finally here. You can download Chapter One of System1, Unlocking Profitable Growth today.

Chapter One focuses on decision-making itself – it sums up everything we’ve learned from thinkers like Daniel Kahneman and Gerd Gigerenzer and shows how their ideas are relevant to everyday life. From round-the-world yachting to Charles Darwin’s love life, this one has it all.

Every two weeks after that we’ll be releasing a new chapter putting the spotlight on a different area of marketing and research and showing what a difference behavioural science can make to your thinking on it. Chapter Two will talk about Innovation, Chapter Three deals with Advertising, Chapter Four tackles Brand-Building, and we finish up with Chapter Five, all about Shopper Marketing. All of them will be available, free of charge, via our website and mailing list. You can register to receive them here.

Then in summer the whole thing will come out as a printed book. It distils everything we’ve learned in our sixteen years of experimentation and innovation, and we couldn’t be prouder of it.

The book is written by System1 Group CEO John Kearon, Chief Innovation Officer Orlando Wood and this blog’s editor Tom Ewing.
